Categories of membership.
For individuals

Requirements
- Be employed at an Intergovermental Organisations
- Carrying out data protection functions e.g. Be a DPO or privacy professional
- Agree to follow the rules of IGOPA
- Sign the IGOPA code of conduct
Benefits
- Participate in the Communities of Practice
- Participate in the Forums
- Be appointed to leadership positions of IGOPA, Communities of Practice, Forums.
- Vote in the General Assembly
Honorary Member
Requirements
- An interest in data protection in Intergovermental Organisations
- Agree to follow the rules of IGOPA
- Sign the IGOPA code of conduct

- No voting rights at the General Assembly

Activities

Events
Events bring together people from inside and outside of IGOPA together to connect. These can range from online seminars to International conferences.

Forums
A forum is a group of individuals who have an interest in a certain area or speciality.
The group meets regularly to discuss topics and issues and share knowledge and experiences.
Forums elect their own organising committees and decide what topics will be discussed in the forum, forums can also can organise their own events including events that the public can attend.
Simply join IGOPA to participate in a forum. Regular Members and Honorary Members can participate.

Communities of Practice (CoP)
Community of Practice
A Community of Practice is a group of people who “share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly”.
Regular members work together to find common ground, look for solutions and solve practical problems in a CoP.
Only Regular Members can participate in a CoP
